HOPI FACTS

When it is time to eat we eat rabbits, dear, bird, seeds, fruits, roots, bark, and bread. When we eat the vegetables, we eat corns that are the colors yellow, blue, red, white, and purple. To make the corn and the bread we use irrigation. If we have too much food, we dig clay and shape in into pots to store the leftover food in. We put the containers in our Pueblo, which is what we live in. On the inside of the pueblo, we do weaving to make clothing. On the outside, on the middle floor, we cook, grind corn, bake bread, and also make pottery. We make this pottery to eat food out of. Out side on the top floor, we just talk and look at the mountains. To get there, we use ladders. We go on the roof because we do things up there. In the pueblo we have our clothes. The warriors wear animal’s masks for protection, eagle feathers, a skirt, and pants. When the men are not warriors they wear skirts. The ladies wear paper hats with feathers at the top, necklaces, and fabric skirts. Last the kids wear ammunition belts, and boots. All of the Hopi war animal clothes like this....

Being a man you have to do a lot of work to make the citizens happy. The men have to make the pueblos and sometimes the warriors get killed to protect the citizens. In the tribe everybody is doing something. If you ever come to the Hopi tribe there is always something going on.
